Paint & Body

A smooth paint finish, perfect panel alignment, and tight gaps are hallmarks of show-quality paint and body work. However, it’s a painstaking process that requires 700-900 hours of labor. After all the sheetmetal work on a car is complete, we spend an additional 8-10 weeks prepping the body before the first drop of paint is laid down. To provide a firm foundation for the paint to adhere to, we sand and chemically clean the bare metal surface to remove grease and contaminants. We then apply a polyester primer, block sand the body, apply an acrylic primer, and then disassemble the body panels to work on the firewall and door jambs. Painting the body panels takes another two weeks, and we spend an additional 100 hours color sanding and buffing the paint.
